Beyond the headline: reading the inventory cycle

A framework for looking at crude stocks, refinery activity and product demand together.

OilGasTicker editorial reading guide. Not a current news release, investment recommendation or independently verified market update.

A single inventory headline is a starting point, not a complete explanation of the energy market. Start with the reporting period, the units and whether a number is preliminary or revised.

Read the underlying EIA release alongside any interpretation. Compare the same series and time periods, and separate observed data from possible explanations. Do not treat an inventory change by itself as a trading signal.

This is an original educational reading guide, not a report about a current release. Live reporting will appear here only after source review and human editorial approval.
